Sam Brabham Joins Redline Racing For Porsche Carrera Cup GB Debut

Redline Racing are delighted to welcome Sam Brabham to the team for his Porsche Carrera Cup GB debut as they expand to a three-car entry for the penultimate round of the 2018 season at Silverstone next weekend (15/16 September). The third-generation racing driver will join current Porsche Carrera Cup GB championship leader Dino Zamparelli and Fraser Robertson in the Teeside team’s line-up for Rounds Thirteen and Fourteen at the home of British Motor Racing. The Australian/British racer, son of 24 Hours of Le Mans winner David Brabham and grandson of three-time Formula One World Champion Sir Jack Brabham, will be making an exciting return to competition behind the wheel of a 485hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. Brabham started his career in single-seater racing and impressively finished runner-up in the Scholarship class and fourth overall in his maiden Formula Ford GB campaign in 2013, before becoming a double race-winner in MSA Formula the following year. The 24 year old, who was previously a finalist for the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship, will race with a special livery inspired by the Brabham family’s 70 years of racing heritage as he competes in the championship’s Pro-Am class.

Sam Brabham: “To say I’m delighted to be joining Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Redline Racing is an understatement. It has been a long four years out of competitive racing, however, everything I’ve experienced during that time has made me more than ready for this opportunity. “I’d really like to thank my long-standing partners Forresters and Ballinacurra House for their invaluable support. I’ve wanted to make the switch to sportscars for a long time. This will still be a big challenge but I’m ready and extremely excited to get going.” Simon Leonard – Team Boss: “We’re thrilled to welcome Sam Brabham to the team for his Porsche Carrera Cup GB debut. Sam has shown in his career so far that he is an exceptionally talented driver and we can’t wait to see what he can achieve in a Porsche. “We’re under no illusions as to the challenge facing Sam as he enters a hugely competitive championship, so we will be working hard to give him the package he needs to get up to speed quickly and enjoy a successful weekend at Silverstone.” Image fromJakob Ebrey Photography and car livery by Sean Bull Design.
