Fin Green was the epitome of consistency on another ultra-competitive Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup weekend (14/15 September) at Knockhill, claiming a trio of points finishes from some close-fought races. Arriving north of the border in Scotland off the back of clinching his first podium finish in the one-make series at Thruxton last time out, the Total Control Racing driver had his sights set on picking up more silverware. Following Friday’s two practice sessions around the rollercoaster 1.27-mile circuit, Green set a best time of 50.783 in qualifying to line up in sixth place for the first of three races over the course of the weekend. Dropping a position at the start in the opening encounter of the weekend, the 16-year-old dug deep and soon found his way past Reece Somerfield to regain sixth - where he would finish come the chequered flag in comfortable fashion. Starting race two in sixth once again, Green produced another consistent performance at the wheel of his rear-wheel-drive machine, finishing fifth. Running sixth for a majority of the race, the former Ginetta Junior ace capitalised on Harry King’s time-penalty to elevate himself into the top five to clinch more vital points. Green brought the curtain down on his Scottish weekend with another determined drive as he added to his points tally with a sixth place finish, having been in the thick of the action for the final spot on the podium. Leaving Knockhill, the GDS International, Meet the Boss, Opal, Sativa, Braxi and Sapphire Cars supported racer sits eighth in the overall Drivers’ Championship standings whilst Total Control Racing are fifth in the Teams’ Championship. Fin Green: "It has been a relatively good weekend and I can leave here happy that we have made some progress, both with the car and myself. “To come away with three top six finishes on what has been an ultra-competitive weekend in the championship is pleasing. We’ve had good pace since we arrived on Friday and have slowly been chipping away, making progress in every session. “We’re heading towards the end of the season now and with Silverstone up next, it would be great to get back amongst some silverware and see if we can round out the year with some more success.” The Millers Oils Ginetta GT4 SuperCup continues in under two weeks’ time on September 28/29 at Silverstone, with the National layout of the Northamptonshire venue playing host to the penultimate event of the 2019 season.
