Breakell Racing Add Cummings And Ellis To Revolution Line-Up

Breakell Racing are pleased to announce that leading prototype racing talents Andy Cummings and Bradley Ellis will be joining the team this season to contest selected rounds of the Sports Prototype Cup behind the wheel of Revolution A-Ones.

After scoring a podium finish during a one-off appearance in the inaugural Sports Prototype Cup event last year, Ellis will be making an exciting return to the championship in 2021. He’ll be joined by long-time team-mate Cummings, with the duo having worked together for a number of years.

Ellis has raced in leading GT and prototype championships across the globe. Launching his career as the British GT champion in 2007, he has gone on to compete in leading series including Blancpain, International GT Open and Creventic 24 Hours.

Cummings made a name for himself in the Radical European Masters, winning the Supersport class title in 2014 and finishing as vice-champion alongside Ellis the following year. He’s since raced up to LMP3 level, impressing during selected appearances in the Le Mans Cup.

Ellis and Cummings will be racing alongside the previously announced Richard Wells. The rally driver turned circuit racer will be getting back behind the wheel of a Revolution A-One after impressing last year with three podium finishes in four races during outings at Snetterton and Portimao.

Breakell Racing still have a number of opportunities available for drivers to join them for the 2021 Sports Prototype Cup and race a Revolution A-One; a carbon-fibre high-downforce prototype powered by a 3.7 litre V6 engine producing 400bhp.

A fantastic calendar for the 2021 season will see the championship race on four current Formula 1 venues. Starting at Silverstone next weekend (29/30 May), the series then moves on to Portimao (Portugal), Monza (Italy), Donington Park and Paul Ricard (France).

The trip to Monza is eagerly anticipated, as the championship joins the Formula 1 support bill for a second year in a row. Renowned as the “temple of speed”, the historic venue produces a special atmosphere thanks to the passionate “tifosi” crowd.

The opportunity to compete alongside Formula 1 at one of the most iconic circuits in global motorsport doesn’t come around too often, and Breakell Racing have seats available to join the grid for this unmissable weekend of racing.

James Breakell - Team Principal: “We’re delighted to welcome Andy and Bradley to the team for some rounds of the Sports Prototype Cup this season. Both of them are very quick and experienced prototype racers, so we have no doubt they’ll be up there challenging for silverware.

“Alongside Richard, who has really impressed in his time in the Revolution so far, we’re happy with the line-up we have so far. We’re keen to expand on it though and have some exciting opportunities for both arrive and drive hire and car sales with support packages from the team.

“To be racing on four current Formula 1 venues is incredible, and the trip to Monza is going to be a truly special event. The buzz around competing on a Formula 1 weekend last year was brilliant and to do that again, this time with the Italian crowd there, will be even better.”

Prior to the start of the Sports Prototype Cup UK season, Breakell Racing are back in Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT5 Challenge action this weekend (22/23 May) as they join the support bill for the British GT Championship season opener.

After a starring performance from Max Coates at Thruxton earlier this month, it’s Sean Peters’ turn to get behind the wheel of their Ginetta G40. The Lancashire racer, who has previous experience in Radical and MG racing, will be making his Ginetta debut.

Follow the action over the weekend at www.tsl-timing.com, while both Sunday’s races will be streamed live on Ginetta’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
