Christian Mansell Joins CryptoTower Racing Team For Euroformula Open Title Tilt In 2022

Christian Mansell will step up to the Euroformula Open Championship for a full season in 2022 after putting pen to paper on deal to join the CryptoTower Racing Team, which is run by leading single-seater outfit Motopark.

The Australian rising star is no stranger to the team and series after making a handful of appearances last season which culminated in a best finish of second at Monza.

Now returning for a full season, the 16-year-old is looking to take what he learnt last year and piece together what he hopes will be a title challenging EF Open campaign.

Having enjoyed a strong karting career in both Australia and Europe, Mansell’s first full season of car racing in 2020 brought with it plenty of success as he clinched Rookie Cup honours in British F4.

Graduating to the GB3 Championship in the UK in 2021, the teenage racer clinched two wins and a further three podiums on his way to third place overall.

Christian Mansell:“I’m buzzing to be joining the CryptoTower Racing Team for 2022! I was lucky enough to race with the Motopark crew for a couple of events last year and absolutely loved it so joining them for the coming season was a no-brainer.

“Stepping up to Euroformula Open full-time was the logical next step for me. I’ve already got plenty of experience with the team and car so along with a solid pre-season test programme there is no reason why we shouldn’t hit the ground running and be in the mix for the title. I’m super pumped to see what we can do!”

Timo Rumpfkeil, Motopark Group CEO: “We are really excited to have Christian joining the team for the 2022 season of Euroformula Open. He is a great talent and we already had some strong races in 2021 as he joined us for the Monza and Barcelona rounds.

“We have done a good winter test program and I think Christian is well prepared for the season. I expect him to be a strong contender for the 2022 title.”

The nine-round 2022 Euroformula Open Championship season is scheduled to begin at the Estoril circuit in Portugal on May 1st.
