Christian Mansell Set For Exciting Macau Debut In FIA Formula 3 World Cup

Christian Mansell will tackle one of the most prestigious single-seater races in the world this coming week (16-19 November) as he competes in the FIA Formula 3 World Cup as part of the 70th Macau Grand Prix event.

The Australian rising star will compete on the formidable Guia street course for the first time, with the 3.8-mile circuit providing a unique challenge with a mix of high speed straights and tight corners all lined by uncompromising barriers.

Renowned as a proving ground for the single-seater stars of the future, many of the most successful drivers of all-time have raced in Macau on their rise up the ranks, including Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton.

Mansell, who starred with podium finishes at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps in his debut FIA Formula 3 campaign this year, will go up against a hugely-talented entry this week that brings together drivers from F3, FIA Formula Two, Euroformula Open and Formula Regional.

The 18-year-old driver will be racing with reigning F2 champions ART Grand Prix in Macau. He linked up with the French team for the first time during official F3 post-season testing last month, producing encouraging pace across the days at Jerez, Barcelona and Imola.

Christian Mansell: “Macau is going to be an experience like no other. I’ve gained some experience on street circuits in Pau and Monaco, but nothing compares to the Guia circuit and I’m beyond excited to jump in the car and get out there for the first time. Myself and ART are really looking forward to the event and I feel good going into it, so bring it on!”
