James Higgins will begin his challenge for the ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA title this weekend (27-28 April) as the 2024 season blasts into life on the National circuit of Donington Park.
Embarking on what will be his second full season in Britain’s Formula 4 category, Higgins has made the switch to multiple champions Rodin Motorsport and has raised his sights to contend for overall honours.
In 2023 the teenager emerged as one of the standout talents on the grid as he powered his way to a top-six championship finish - clinching two commanding victories and a further four podium finishes.
Higgins’ preparations for this year’s campaign has seen him undertaken a rigorous pre-season testing programme which has consisted of clocking substantial mileage at a host of UK circuits, as well at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
Encouraged by the progress that has been made throughout the off-season, the BRDC Rising Star enters the season optimistic of what can be achieved.
James Higgins: “I’m ready and really looking forward to getting the season underway this weekend! While I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, the goal is simple this season and that’s to be in the hunt for the championship.
“Joining a team with the pedigree that Rodin Motorsport has means that I have every opportunity to pursue that target and I feel like we’re in a good place heading to Donington Park - especially with the amount of work we’ve put in during testing.
“As a team we’ve made sure that no stone has been left unturned and we’ve got a good base line to work from. It’s an ultra-competitive grid but we’ve got every chance of making a good start to the season - and that’s what we’ll be gunning for!”
The 2024 ROKiT F4 British Championship certified by FIA season boasts ten-event, 30-race schedule which includes visits to current Formula 1 tracks, Silverstone and Zandvoort, featuring on the schedule.
