John Bennett Set For Exciting Middle East Race Programme

John Bennett will tackle an exciting new chapter in his blossoming single-seater career early next year after signing up to compete in the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Championship.

Following on from two successful seasons in the GB3 Championship, during which he scored multiple podium-finishes and produced a number of eye-catching performances, Bennett will now expand his horizons and continue his driver development in the Middle East.

The Salisbury-based racer will contest 15 races across five events in January and February 2024, taking on two world-renowned tracks in the Dubai Autodrome and the Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Bennett will be getting the opportunity to pit himself against some of the best young racing drivers in the world, with the 2023 championship having featured drivers who went on to enjoy huge success in the likes of FIA Formula Three and Formula Regional Europe this year.

The Middle East drive comes with the hugely-experienced Evans GP team, who have enjoyed success in the GB4 Championship and Formula Regional Asian Championship. Bennett will have a familiar team-mate in Costas Toparis, having raced together in the Rodin Carlin GB3 squad this year.

John Bennett: “I'm really excited to announce that I will be competing in FRMEC with Evans GP in 2024. It’s an incredibly competitive championship, but I am optimistic that we can achieve strong results on this international grid with the help of Joshua Evans and his talented race team.

“It will be a big challenge, learning a new car and two new circuits over an intense race schedule. I’ll be putting in lots of preparation over the coming months to make sure I’m physically and mentally ready. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Joshua Evans – Evans GP Team Principal:“We are pleased to welcome John Bennett to Evans GP. His track record and skills align with our team’s ethos of excellence and professionalism. Paired with Costa Toparis, we anticipate a competitive performance in the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Championship.”
