Xentek Motorsport Score Stunning Triple Porsche Win At Oulton Park

Xentek Motorsport enjoyed a weekend to remember in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB at Oulton Park (22-23 June), with a set of milestone results headlined by their first class wins in the championship with Sam Harvey.

The South Yorkshire team had plenty to smile about as Harvey backed up his double podium in the Snetterton season opener with a perfect treble in the CS Pro class, whilst team-mates Oliver Cottam and Bal Sidhu enjoyed breakthrough top five finishes in the RS Pro and RS Am classes respectively.

Across a weekend of glorious sunshine in Cheshire, Harvey was truly a force to be reckoned with in his Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. Qualifying second fastest in class, he duly grabbed the lead on the opening lap of race one and comfortably held it through to the chequered flag.

Initially slipping to third in race two, he fought back to second on the road and then benefitted when the driver ahead was penalised for having previously overtaken him under yellow flags. That win secured him pole for race three and he signed off his weekend with a supreme lights-to-flag success.

After a strong debut at Snetterton in his new-for-2024 Cayman RS car, Cottam continued to build his experience and pace across the Oulton Park event. Consistent progress across the races saw him finish seventh, sixth and finally fifth for his best result in the championship to date.

Sidhu meanwhile took advantage of his extra track time in the Cayman RS (more below) to make strides forward in the competitive RS Am category. After finishing seventh in the opener, he impressively gained two places to a seasons’ best fifth in race two before an unfortunate retirement in the closer.

Christopher Richards – Team Principal: “It’s a fantastic moment for Xentek Motorsport to take our first wins in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB. We’re continuing to progress as a team in this championship and ticking off these milestones as we go.

“Sam was exceptional across the weekend, he had great pace from the off and converted it into a perfect hat-trick. Oliver and Bal are both showing great progress in the RS and breaking into the top five is a big confidence boost for both of them heading into the next round and beyond."

The third round of the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season is coming up next month with a trip to Croft (27-28 July).
